It's Been Too Long...

So much has happened it seems since my last blog post. And why not? That was over 6 months ago....

The holidays are over and we're into 2011. We had a fabulous Christmas with my Grandma Helen here from Florida. Connor's behavior was a dream come true, playing with one toy at a time after he opened it. He gave us all time to open our presents to savor them and listen to the stories behind each one. By the time we were all done opening the gifts, it was around 2pm! It was wonderful.

On December 29th, our little Connor turned five. Wow! Five!!! It's like the beginning of real childhood. I can't believe it! Five is when we start learning to read (at least I'm hoping that's true), when we start exploring an afternoon class or two (maybe gymnastics or martial arts later this year), and when I can expect him to do more chores around the house (like make his bed, put away his own clothes, and put the clean silverware away). And next year, kindergarden. He's so nervous about being in a big school. But I try and tell him it will be o.k., and that parents are good at helping children feel courageous and brave. ;)

And I'm pregnant! :) Yes, as I write this, I'm 29 weeks pregnant. (The photo is from several weeks ago, though.) The bump is bigger, the going is slower, and the naps are more regular. We had our second ultrasound the other day and it was adorable! The little one--we don't know the gender-- was holding its feet. And then, when we got to the head, it opened its eyes and blinked at us a few times! It was as if this baby is all ready and set to go, and just waiting for its time to come out and announce itself to the world. It was magical.
